The Seward tradition started in 1878 when Simon Seward made his first trunk in Petersburg, Virginia. Simon's company grew because he focused on building quality products based on the customer's needs. Seward trunks soon filled cargo holds of ocean liners, carried salesmen's samples from town to town, and protected grandma's handmade quilts. They became known as the best value on the market among merchants and their customers. After several decades of hard work, Seward became the largest manufacture of quality trunks in the world.
