Hand Cast Metal:

Casting - Each piece is hand cast in bronze molds of hand poured molten zinc metal. After the zinc cools and solidifies the molds are removed and each piece is carefully examined for defects. Those that pass begin the long process of hand sanding and buffing to remove the mold seam marks, and prepare them for electroplating.

Finishing - The surface of each piece must be perfectly smooth or flaws and blemishes will appear in the finished product. Only when the trained eye of the master craftsman is satisfied will the piece move on to the plating room. There a series of chemical baths will cleanse the surface and prepare it to be brass plated. Hand polishing on leather wheels produces a beautiful luster that is sealed under carefully applied coats of lacquer. After one last inspection each piece is hand packed for shipment.
