Charlotte and Elrod founded Ayers Leather Shop, Inc. in Greenville, South Carolina,
in 1950. Their daughter, Deb Ayers Agnew, grew up in the business, and after her
graduation from college in 1971 joined her parents full time. Today Deb is CEO
and head buyer. You will often find her on the floor helping a newcomer to Greenville,
or on the phone with an old corporate client. Charlotte and Elrod, while semi-retired,
lend a wealth of help and advice to Deb, the staff, and the customers of Ayers
Leather Shops. The staff is extremely loyal and experienced, with the average
employment at over 15 years. Compare that with the employees who don't know or
don't care, that you find in department stores, chain stores and mall shops. The
Ayers, their daughter, and everyone on the staff have traveled extensively. They
have also built a rapport with business men and women from literally all over
the world who regularly travel to Greenville. That experience gained directly,
and through almost 50 years of close contact with international and domestic travelers,
is available for your benefit.

We, at Ayers Leather Shops, have selected luggage, leather goods, or gift items
for our on-line catalog for any or all of the following reasons;

We have tried to select luggage, leather goods, or gift items that are not so
rare as to be unobtainable. However, high quality hand-crafted items are always
in high demand and short supply. While we keep these items in stock and reorder
in advance of anticipated needs, we urge you to order well in advance of holidays
or special occasions. Shipping is normally within 48 hours of receipt of your
order (Sundays and major holidays excluded). We will notify you if there will
be any delay. We are also glad to notify you when your order is shipped, if requested

or gift items from hundreds of manufacturers. Be as specific as you can and we
will respond with price and availability information. Want something, but don't
know who makes it or even if it exists! Let us know, and we will be glad to help.
After almost 50 years in the business, there just is not much that we haven't
seen. If it is being made, we probably know where, and by whom.
Exception
There are a few luggage and leather goods lines that we do not stock at Ayers
Leather Shops. These are cheaply made and carried by discount stories, low end
department stores, warehouse shopping clubs, etc. Our repair department does a
brisk business putting this stuff back together.
If price is your main concern, then all the more reason to take advantage of
our experience at Ayers Leather Shops. We will be glad to show you how to spend
your money wisely on quality craftsmanship and materials, rather than on false
discounts and fancy advertising campaigns. Don't forget quality doesn't mean expensive.

We carry hundreds of gift items for all occasions. Give us a price range, occasion,
some information about the recipient (age, gender, hobbies, business, interests,
etc.) and we can suggest several items.
